About This Role

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for an ML engineer who wants to build and ship production models that power millions of real-time phone conversations. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you’ll work across the ML stack—fine-tuning LLMs and audio models, designing rigorous benchmarks, and deploying models into latency-sensitive, high-traffic systems.

You’ll own model performance end-to-end: from training pipelines and evaluation to post-deployment monitoring. The seat is deeply production-oriented—shipping models that perform under real-world constraints, not just research prototypes. You’ll shape Retell’s ML strategy alongside the founding team and have direct impact on how voice AI works at scale.

Reports into the engineering org, works closely with both ML and backend teams, and partners with product to define and deliver new capabilities. The mandate is to push the frontier of real-time AI voice experiences and build the infrastructure for fast experimentation and robust deployment.
