About Anvara
Anvara is the marketplace where brands discover, evaluate, and close sponsorship deals across sports & live events. Brand customers include Delta, Brex, Kalshi, GoPuff, and BeReal; properties include the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, LAFC, the Wynn, and Major League Pickleball. It’s raised nearly $7M — including from Game Changers Ventures (Roger Ehrenberg’s $100M sports-tech fund; seed investor in The Trade Desk, Datadog, Wise), Marquee Ventures (Cubs ownership group), Sequel, Bryan Rosenblatt (early Robinhood/ClickUp/Carta), and Jonathan Opdyke (founded/sold a company for $250M). The thesis: sponsorship is a $100B+ global market still run on cold emails, spreadsheets, and handshake deals, with no centralized way to buy it like digital media — Anvara is building that. Culture: moonshot goals, customer-obsessed (“11-Star Service”), full ownership, originality/thoughtful dissent, and above all high agency. All roles: in-office 5 days/week, SoHo NYC, lunch included, T&E budget, meaningful early equity, and a personalized perks philosophy (gym, dinners, vacation, education budget — “tell us what it means to you”).

About This Role

You’ll be a founding closer on the brand/demand side. The founders started the selling, the motion works, brands are buying, and money is moving — your job is to take it, close harder than they can, and turn it into a repeatable playbook. Who closes what: you close the real brand deals — higher-value, higher-touch, needing discovery, a few conversations, and someone sharp on the phone — while a BDR sources/qualifies pipeline, books meetings, and handles smaller transactional deals; you also self-source. You own every deal end to end (first touch → signed contract → post-deal relationship). Explicitly “one of the most important hires we’ll make.”

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full brand-deal pipeline: first email → signed contract → post-deal relationship
  • Build/run outbound to brand marketing leaders (CPG, beverage, fintech, gaming, DTC, and beyond)
  • Run discovery/demos that show buyers opportunities they can’t find elsewhere; capture a clear brief
  • Own the numbers (pipeline, conversion, deal velocity, revenue)
  • Write the playbook (cadences, objection handling, deal desk) so the motion scales past you
  • Feed product insights to founders/eng; represent Anvara where brands gather (Cannes Lions, Brandweek, dinners); hire and lead reps as the function grows

Requirements

  • 2–4 years; what you’ve done > where you went to school or how long it took
  • Keeps score and wins — can state quota and attainment, proud of the number, at/near the top of every leaderboard
  • Built something 0→1 (a territory, vertical, motion, or company) that exists because you made it, unasked
  • Has closed something that shouldn’t have been closable
  • Competed at a high level (athlete, founder, or top rep) — needs a real scoreboard
  • Sold without a finished playbook and liked it — ambiguity is fuel
  • Gets how brands buy, or will learn it faster than anyone

Who Will Thrive Here

  • A top-of-the-leaderboard closer who’s built a motion from zero and needs a scoreboard
  • Someone who’s closed the un-closable and sells happily without a finished playbook
  • A high-agency competitor (athlete/founder/elite rep) who wants founding-closer ownership and a path to lead the team
